When it comes to familiar names, Dogs of Greenville is probably at the top of your list (especially if you live in Greenville). The dynamic duo behind Dogs of Greenville, Jason and Steven, were gracious enough to let me ask them numerous questions about them and how their journey into pet sitting began.

"Oh man, it happened by happy accident!" laughed Jason.

Before Dogs of Greenville, Jason and Steven ran another business called The Good South. Through owning The Good South, they become very involved and passionate about branding and marketing.

When they moved to the Greenville area from Southern Mississippi, they noticed Greenville was super dog friendly. "I mean, I loved that I could pet twenty dogs at any given hour," said Steven, "We started the Dogs of Greenville Instagram page where we showcased all these great dogs in the city. It caught on and people started re-posting the pictures."

"From there, the whole page picked up a lot of momentum. We suddenly were the unofficial dog ambassadors of Greenville. People started messaging us and asking us questions," mentioned Jason. "We did our research and made the best recommendations we could in regards to vets, pet stores, and other dog related places. But people kept asking about dog sitting and who we would recommend. Well, we thought we could be the ones they turned to!"

With a large clientele base and hundreds of dogs in their care, it's important for Steven and Jason to stay connected and attend events within the community. They try to go to as many dog related events as possible, and they both love that Greenville has so many organized events for dogs.

"Yappy Hour is so much fun," said Steven, "We love going to these events and seeing our clients 'in the wild' of downtown and socializing with others. We've become great friends with many of our clients, and we enjoy meeting up with them and their pets! It's a super fulfilling feeling."

When taking care of so many pets, I had to ask the inevitable, "What does your week look like?"

For these two, it's different every week! On a daily basis, Steven and Jason visit up to fifteen homes during the day. On top of that, then do overnight stays at their client's house. "We're gone a lot," Jason laughed.

For those of you on social media, Instagram is where you'll find fantastic pictures of Steven and Jason's clients and dogs around the Greenville area. Personally, I love the fun and lightheartedness behind all of the pictures!

These two take care of hundreds of dogs. About 400 hundred to be exact! While taking care of everybody else's four-legged friends, Steven and Jason surprise most people when they mention no dogs of their own. Dogs of Greenville allows them to love on dogs in their community, and they love to see the variety of pups in their city.

Interesting fact: Dogs of Greenville takes care of more than just dogs! They also take care of cats, chickens, lizards, tortoises, and birds!

"People see what we do and think how awesome it is that we play with puppies all day. And we are clearly passionate about what we do, but people don't see behind the scenes," said Jason. "Scheduling and juggling all we do is difficult. We also have multiple overnights, inquires, and lots more. We definitely have to stay organized and plan out our days and schedules. Sometimes, we have clients call to schedule months in advance because they know how busy we get! Having a business prior to Dogs of Greenville has really helped us, and we know that organization is key as we continue to grow."

When speaking with Jason and Steven, it's evident how much they love their community and the pets they take care of on a daily basis. "Never did I think I could fall in love with dogs that are not my own," said Steven, "In our line of work, we see so many types of breeds and personalities. I loved my chocolate lab who passed away, and I never thought I could fall in love with somebody else's dog. But I did."
