Jennifer Bronzel || Organic Cat Cafe

There's nothing quite like snuggling a kitty while sipping your coffee and reading a book, is there? Well, what if you were able to cuddle with twenty-four cats?

That's exactly the appeal of the Organic Cat Cafe in Downtown Greenville, SC. When you walk in, you're greeted by tons of small, furry faces who would be happy for you to play, sit, or read alongside them. 

Jennifer Bronzel and her boyfriend, Ernesto Cardenas, are business partners. Originally from Germany, Jennifer always wanted to visit America but didn't know if she would end up living Stateside, especially in Greenville! For many years, she knew she wanted to do something with cats, although she wasn't sure what. In 2014 her plans for a cat cafe started forming.

Filled with excitement and passion, she made a website, Facebook page, and more social media. Before she knew it, curious people were asking "When do you open?" 

Unfortunately, Jennifer didn't have a location or a means to open. She wanted the space to be open and airy, and eventually she found the perfect spot next to a church in downtown Greenville off of College Street. 

So what about the cats? Are they adoptable? Not quite!

"These cats have made their home here," said Jennifer. "I don't want to run a shelter. I want to provide you with an experience with sweet cats that you can come back again and again to visit. Eventually, people make a bond with their favorites!"

As I mentioned before, you'll also be able to get some fabulous snacks and drinks. Worried about regulations and DHEC? Don't be! The kitchen is sealed by not one, but two large doors. Once inside the actual cafe, you can order great treats to be enjoyed alongside the cats.

During this time until January 20th, Organic Cat Cafe is in their "Soft Opening" stage. Jennifer said she's extremely appreciative of all the feedback she's received so far. "I'm learning people's likes and dislikes, it's great!"
